Prof. Dr. Sarfaraz Ahmed Khan's journey from a sidewalk vendor to a respected professor of law is a testament to his grit, determination, and love for education. During the 1980s, he started selling sarees on the sidewalk of Esplanade and studied late into the night.[reference:16] He completed his Secondary and Higher Secondary exams in 1988 and 1990, respectively, and worked part-time with the local branch of United Bank of India as its commission agent of mini deposit schemes.[reference:17] His career took a turn when he got himself enrolled as an advocate at the Alipore Judges' Court and then at the Calcutta High Court.[reference:18]
